{"id":13717,"date":"2024-06-15T04:23:20","date_gmt":"2024-06-14T22:53:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=13717"},"modified":"2025-10-14T11:13:25","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T05:43:25","slug":"digital-health-incentives-scheme-dhis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/digital-health-incentives-scheme-dhis\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital Health Incentives Scheme (DHIS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Digital Health Incentive Scheme (DHIS) is a national initiative by the <strong>National Health Authority (NHA) <\/strong>aimed at promoting the adoption of digital health practices in India.<\/li>\n<li>It was launched on January 1, <strong>2023<\/strong>, under the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/ayushman-bharat-digital-mission\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM)<\/a> to create a robust digital health ecosystem and enhance the quality of care for patients.<\/li>\n<li>With this <strong>extension<\/strong>, the scheme will now remain in effect till June 30, <strong>2025<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Features and Objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Eligibility<\/strong>: Health facilities (hospitals, diagnostic labs), digital solution companies, and other healthcare providers are eligible to participate in the scheme.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Incentives <\/strong>are provided based on the number of digital health records created and linked to Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) numbers of patients.<\/li>\n<li>Healthcare institutions and digital solution entities can register for the scheme through the <strong>Health Facility Registry<\/strong> (HFR) and <strong>ABDM Sandbox<\/strong>, respectively.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Transactions that qualify<\/strong> under the scheme include creating any ABHA-linked health record, such as teleconsultations, lab reports, prescriptions, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Objectives and Impact:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Promote digital health:<\/strong> The scheme aims to encourage healthcare providers to adopt digital health practices, enhancing patient care and reducing administrative burdens.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enhance quality of care:<\/strong> By digitizing health records, the scheme ensures evidence-based quality care and seamless access to patient records.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Boost digital health transactions:<\/strong> The scheme aims to increase digital health transactions, which will help in creating a robust digital health ecosystem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>National Health Authority (NHA):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is the <strong>apex body<\/strong> responsible for implementing <strong>AB PM-JAY.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It has been entrusted with the role of designing strategy, building technological infrastructure and implementing of<strong> \u201cNational Digital Health Mission &#8221;<\/strong> to create a National Digital Health Eco-system.<\/li>\n<li>It is the<strong> successor of the National Health Agency<\/strong>, which has been functioning as a registered society since 2018.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Under the Cabinet decision for full functional autonomy, the National Health Agency was reconstituted as the National Health Authority in January 2019.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is Ayushman Bharat \u2013 Pradhan Mantri Jan AarogyaYojana (AB-PMJAY)?<\/h3>\n<p>AB PM-JAY is the largest health assurance scheme in the world which aims at providing a health cover of \u20b9 5,00,000 per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to over 10.74 crores poor and vulnerable families (approximately 50 crore beneficiaries) that form bottom 40% of the Indian population. The households included is based on the deprivation and occupational criteria of the Socio-Economic Caste Census 2011 (SECC 2011) for rural and urban areas respectively.
