{"id":13829,"date":"2023-08-08T12:56:10","date_gmt":"2023-08-08T07:26:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=13829"},"modified":"2025-04-02T07:39:33","modified_gmt":"2025-04-02T02:09:33","slug":"north-east-venture-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/north-east-venture-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"North East Venture Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About North East Venture Fund<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is registered as <strong>a Category I Venture Capital Fund<\/strong> under <strong>Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Alternative Investment Funds (AIF)<\/strong> Regulations, 2012.<\/li>\n<li>An independent committee (Investment Committee) comprising of experienced professionals from the field of venture funding, private equity, developmental banking etc <strong>takes the investment decision.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>As a regulatory requirement, periodic reporting on the operation\/compliances of regulation is placed before the contributors of NEVF and other concerned bodies in a structured manner.<\/li>\n<li>In addition, fund operation <strong>is also monitored by Reserve Bank of India<\/strong> (RBI) and Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in the form of periodic audit.<\/li>\n<li>It was established as a close ended fund <strong>with a target corpus of Rs. 100 crore.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It has already received its targeted corpus with contribution of Rs. 30 crore from <strong>North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd. <\/strong>(NEDFi), Rs. 25 crore from Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and Rs. 45 crore from Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER).<\/li>\n<li>However, the contribution of MDoNER was given to NEDFi as interest free loan to be repayable in lump sum at the end of 15 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is RBI?<\/h3>\n<p>The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is the central banking institution of India.
