It <strong>gets its name from the swollen lymph nodes (buboes) caused by the disease.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The <strong>other types of plague are:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Septicemic plague<\/strong>, which <strong>happens when the infection goes all through the body<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pneumonic plague<\/strong>, which happens <strong>when the lungs are infected.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Symptoms<\/strong>: Bubonic plague symptoms include\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sudden high fever<\/strong> and chills.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pains in the areas of the abdomen<\/strong>, arms and legs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Headaches<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Large and swollen lumps in the lymph nodes<\/strong> (buboes) that develop <strong>and leak pus.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Transmission<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>Y. pestis is <strong>spread mostly by fleas on rodents and other animals<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It is <strong>transmitted between animals and humans by the bite of infected fleas<\/strong>, <strong>direct contact<\/strong> with infected tissues, and <strong>inhalation of infected respiratory droplets.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s an <strong>example <\/strong>of a disease that can spread between animals and people <strong>(a<\/strong> <strong>zoonotic disease<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Treatment<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>It can be <strong>treated and cured with antibiotics<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Antibiotics<\/strong> that treat bubonic plague <strong>include Ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, moxifloxacin, Gentamicin <\/strong>and Doxycycline.<\/li>\n<li>It <strong>can be fatal if it\u2019s not treated.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1)\u00a0What are Lymph nodes?<\/h3>\n<p>Lymph nodes, also known as lymph glands, are small, bean-shaped structures located throughout the body as part of the lymphatic system.
