Museum and Library (PMML) Society"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Prime Ministers&#8217; Museum and Library (PMML) Society<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Status<\/strong>: It is an <strong>autonomous institution<\/strong> <strong>under the Ministry of Culture<\/strong>, Government of India.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Location<\/strong>: It is housed in the historic <strong>Teen Murti campus located south of Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>PMML is dedicated to the <strong>objective of promoting advanced research on Modern and Contemporary India.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>History<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Designed by Robert Tor Russel and built in 1929-30<\/strong> as part of Edwin Lutyens&#8217; imperial capital, <strong>Teen Murti House was the official residence of the Commander-in-Chief in India.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>In August 1948, after the departure of the last British <\/strong>Commander-in-Chief, <strong>Teen Murti House became the official residence of independent India&#8217;s first <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/prime-minister\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><u>Prime Minister<\/u><\/strong><\/a><strong>, Jawaharlal Nehru<\/strong>, who <strong>lived here for sixteen years<\/strong> until his death on May 27, 1964.<\/li>\n<li><strong>On Jawaharlal Nehru&#8217;s 75th birth anniversary<\/strong> on November 14, 1964 Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/president-of-india\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><u>President of India<\/u><\/strong><\/a><strong>, formally dedicated the Teen Murti House to the nation and inaugurated the Nehru Memorial Museum.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>On 1 April 1966, the Government <strong>set up the Prime Ministers Museum and Library (PMML) Society to manage the institution<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>PMML <strong>has four major constituents, namely-<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Memorial Museum;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Library on modern India<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Centre for Contemporary Studies;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Nehru Planetarium;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Administration<\/strong>: The <strong>General Council and the President and the <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/vice-president-of-india\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><u>Vice-President<\/u><\/strong><\/a> of the <strong>PMML<\/strong> Society <strong>are nominated by the Central Government<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1)\u00a0Which is the official residence of the Indian Prime Minister?<\/h3>\n<p>7, Lok Kalyan Marg (formerly known as 7 Race Course Road) is the official residence and principal workplace of the Indian Prime Minister.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deccanherald.com\/india\/change-in-name-of-nmml-to-prime-ministers-museum-and-library-comes-into-effect-official-2648735\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><u>Change in name of NMML to Prime Ministers&#8217;
