{"id":14083,"date":"2023-08-17T06:20:55","date_gmt":"2023-08-17T00:50:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=14083"},"modified":"2025-04-02T09:47:14","modified_gmt":"2025-04-02T04:17:14","slug":"defence-testing-infrastructure-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/defence-testing-infrastructure-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Defence Testing Infrastructure Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Defence Testing Infrastructure Scheme:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In order to boost domestic defence and aerospace manufacturing, Ministry of Defence (MoD) has launched Defence Testing Infrastructure Scheme (DTIS).<\/li>\n<li>It was launched in 2020<\/li>\n<li><strong>Duration:<\/strong> The scheme would run for the duration of <strong>five years.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The scheme envisages setting up of 6-8 Greenfield Defence Testing Infrastructure facilities that are required for defence and aerospace related production.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding pattern:<\/strong>Up to <strong>75 per cent Government funding<\/strong> in the form of \u2018Grant-in-Aid\u2019. The <strong>remaining 25 per cent of the project<\/strong> cost will have to be borne by <strong>the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) constituents <\/strong>of which will be the Indian private entities and state governments.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>What is Unmanned Aerial System?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>UAS are <strong>air vehicles and associated equipment<\/strong> that do not carry a human operator, but instead are remotely piloted or fly autonomously.<\/li>\n<li>UAS commonly are referred to as Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) and drones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What are Unmanned Aerial Vehicles?<\/h3>\n<p>Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones, are aircraft that are operated without a human pilot on board.
