K. R. V. Rao Committee.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an <\/span><b>autonomous organisation <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">working<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">under the aegis of the Department of Higher Education, <\/span><b>Ministry of Education.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ICSSR plays a pivotal role in <\/span><b>advancing knowledge and understanding of various social issues and challenges,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and providing research-based solutions to policymakers and stakeholders in the development of the nation through initiatives and schemes such as\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>research projects<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">doctoral, postdoctoral, senior fellowships, and national <\/span><b>fellowships<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>research internships<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">;<\/span><b> training and capacity building<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of early career researchers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">publication <\/span><b>grants<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">national and international <\/span><b>seminars<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, conferences, and workshops<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">publication of cutting-edge research<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>national and international collaboration<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">promotion of social science and humanities research through <\/span><b>research institutes, recognised institutes, and regional centres.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An <\/span><b>all-India network of 24 frontline research institutes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and six regional centres is maintained, and<\/span><b> five recognized institutes are programmatically supported by the ICSSR.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Documentation center of ICSSR \u2013 National Social Science Documentation Centre (NASSDOC)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-provides library and information support services to researchers in social sciences.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">ICSSR has developed the <b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">ICSSR Data Service<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to serve as a national data service for <\/span><b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">promoting a powerful research environment through sharing and reuse of data among the social science community<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in India.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/india\/icssr-pulls-up-csds-for-data-manipulation-seeks-funding-details-nagpur-nashik-police-cases-add-heat\/articleshow\/123414068.cms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TOI<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Indian Council of Social Science Research was established in the year 1969 by the Government of India to promote and fund research in the social sciences in the country.
