notification for Nagarahole Tiger Reserve for the second time, identifying a 573.95 sqkm area around the reserve forest where some activities will be regulated.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Nagarahole Tiger Reserve<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Location:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is situated in the districts of Mysore and Kodagu<strong> in Karnataka.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is situated at the tri-junction area of the States of <\/span><b>Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Geographically, it is an \u201cecological confluence\u201d of the <\/span><b>Western and Eastern Ghats.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is named after a <\/span><b>small river, \u2018Nagarahole\u2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (literally a snake stream in Kannada), which meanders within the habitat before joining the river Kabini.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is part of the <\/span><b>larger <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/nbr\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which is recognized as a <\/span><b>UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is flanked by the <\/span><b>Bandipur Tiger Reserve<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on its <\/span><b>southeastern side<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary of Kerala on the <\/span><b>southwest.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Rivers:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is surrounded by the <\/span><b>River Kabini<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in its north and River <\/span><b>Moyar <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in its south.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Vegetation<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The dry eastern limits of the reserve have <\/span><b>dry deciduous forests.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Towards the west, with the increase in rainfall, the vegetation changes to tropical moist and semi-evergreen forests.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Flora:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It includes <\/span><b>rosewood, Indian kino tree<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, sandalwood, Indian laurel, clumping bamboo, giant clumping bamboo, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Fauna: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It comprises mammals such as Bengal tiger, gaur, sloth
