{"id":14658,"date":"2023-08-29T02:32:30","date_gmt":"2023-08-28T21:02:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=14658"},"modified":"2025-04-02T22:07:50","modified_gmt":"2025-04-02T16:37:50","slug":"national-career-service-ncs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-career-service-ncs\/","title":{"rendered":"National Career Service (NCS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About National Career Service (NCS)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>NCS <strong>aims to bridge the gap between those who need jobs and those who want to hire them<\/strong>, b<strong>etween people seeking career guidance <\/strong>and training <strong>and those who can provide the counselling <\/strong>and training.<\/li>\n<li>It was <strong>launched in the year 2015.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It <strong>provides a host of career-related services such as dynamic job matching, career counselling, job notifications, vocational guidance, and information on skill development courses<\/strong>, internships and alike.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The<strong> focus areas <\/strong>for the NCS platform <strong>are listed below:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Enhancing Career and employment opportunities<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Counselling and guidance<\/strong> for career development;<\/li>\n<li>Focusing on <strong>decent employment<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enhancing female labour force <\/strong>participation;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Encouraging entrepreneurial<\/strong> endeavours;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It aims at r<strong>eaching out to people across the country,<\/strong> in particular the youth, <strong>through a<\/strong> well-designed structure that comprises <strong>an ICT-based portal, a countrywide set-up of career centres, a multilingual call centre, and a network of career counsellors.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Nodal Agency<\/strong>: The project is being implemented by the <strong>Directorate General of Employment, Ministry of Labour &amp; Employment.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>NCS portal:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The NCS Portal l<strong>inks job-seekers, employers, counsellors and training provider<\/strong>s, all <strong>through Aadhaar-based authentication.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Registration is online and free of charge.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The portal <strong>provides information on over 3000 career options from 53 key industry Sectors<\/strong> &#8211; from IT to Textiles, Construction to Automobiles, Pharma and much more.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Job-seekers also have access to industry trends <\/strong>in a user-friendly way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1)\u00a0What is the National Skills Development Mission?<\/h3>\n<p>The National Skill Development Mission was approved by the Union Cabinet on 01.07.2015, and officially launched by the Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister on 15.07.2015 on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day. The Mission has been developed to create convergence across sectors and States in terms of skill training activities.
