been spotted at the Nanjarayan bird for the first time.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Red-Necked Phalarope<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>a fairly small shorebird<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> known for spinning frantically on water to stir up small invertebrates.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Distribution:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It has a circumpolar distribution and is <\/span><b>found in both boreal and tundra zones<\/b> <b>between 60 and 70 degrees latitude.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These phalaropes can be found in coastal regions of the Arctic Ocean, south to the Aleutians and Northwest to Britain.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the winter, it spends most <\/span><b>of its time on the ocean.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During this non-breeding season, phalaropes can be found off central-west South America, in the Arabian Sea and from central Indonesia to western Melanesia.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Appearance and Behavior of Red-necked Phalarope<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Food: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The bird mainly feeds on small aquatic invertebrates and plankton.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It exhibits a typical feeding <\/span><b>behavior of spinning on the surface of water. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This rapid circling is believed to bring the prey to its feeding range.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>During the breeding period,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the species have a chestnut-red plumage from behind the ear to the down sides of the neck.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Females are
