{"id":15079,"date":"2023-09-22T05:14:01","date_gmt":"2023-09-21T23:44:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=15079"},"modified":"2025-04-03T08:27:23","modified_gmt":"2025-04-03T02:57:23","slug":"asia-pacific-forum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/asia-pacific-forum\/","title":{"rendered":"Asia Pacific Forum"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Asia Pacific Forum:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It was\u00a0<strong>founded in 1996.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It has created a strong and united platform that brings together\u00a0<strong>National Human Rights Institutions\u00a0<\/strong>(NHRIs) from all corners of the Asia Pacific.<\/li>\n<li>It addresses some of the most serious human rights challenges in Asia Pacific region.<\/li>\n<li>It has\u00a0<strong>17 full members<\/strong> and eight associate members.<\/li>\n<li>India has been a full time member since 1996.<\/li>\n<li>To be admitted as a full member, a National Human Rights Institution must fully comply with the\u00a0<strong>minimum international standards<\/strong> set out in the Paris Principles.<\/li>\n<li>National Human Rights Institutions that partially comply with the Paris Principles are granted associate membership.<\/li>\n<li>Decisions about the admission of new members to the APF are made by the Forum Council.<\/li>\n<li>A fundamental goal of the APF\u00a0<strong>is to promote the establishment of independent NHRIs<\/strong> in the Asia Pacific region and to support our members to do their work as effectively as possible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is NHRC?<\/h3>\n<p>The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in India is an autonomous and statutory body established in accordance with the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.
