MoUs with Nagaland Medical Council, Nagaland State Drugs Control Administration (NSDCA) and Nagaland State Pharmacy Council.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an <\/span><b>autonomous Institution<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the <\/span><b>Ministry of Health and Family Welfare<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Govt. of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is created to <\/span><b>set standards of drugs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Functions of Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its basic function is to <\/span><b>regularly update the standards of drugs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> commonly required for treatment of diseases prevailing in this region.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It publishes <\/span><b>official documents for improving Quality of Medicines<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by way of adding new and updating existing monographs in the form of Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It further promotes <\/span><b>rational use of generic medicines<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by publishing National Formulary of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It prescribes standards for identity, purity and strength of drugs essentially required from the health care perspective of human beings and animals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also provides <\/span><b>IP Reference Substances<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (IPRS) which act as a fingerprint for identification of an article under test and its purity as prescribed in IP.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>What is Pharmacopoeia?<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Pharmacopoeias are official compendia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of quality standards of the drugs being imported, manufactured for sale, stocked or exhibited for sale or
