It is also used for patrolling, surveillance, and providing security to India&#8217;s maritime interests.<\/li>\n<li>Features:\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0design and construction of the ship\u00a0are entirely Indian and is a modification of the Godavari-class frigate.<\/li>\n<li>It has a\u00a0displacement of about 3,850 tons.<\/li>\n<li>The ship has a\u00a0length of 126 meters (413 feet) and a\u00a0beam width of 14.5 meters (48 feet).<\/li>\n<li>Propulsion: 2 steam turbines<\/li>\n<li>It is capable of reaching\u00a0speeds of over 30 knots, making it swift and agile in naval operations.<\/li>\n<li>It is fitted with an array of\u00a0modern sensor suites and matching weapon systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is a Frigate?<\/h3>\n<p>A frigate is a type of warship that is typically smaller and faster than a full-fledged battleship or cruiser but larger and more heavily armed than a corvette or patrol vessel.
