{"id":16011,"date":"2023-10-18T06:10:21","date_gmt":"2023-10-18T00:40:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=16011"},"modified":"2025-04-03T21:45:45","modified_gmt":"2025-04-03T16:15:45","slug":"atms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/atms\/","title":{"rendered":"Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) Standards"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) Standards<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Aim:\u00a0To\u00a0enhance road safety, reducing incidence response time and\u00a0digital enforcement on national highways and expressways.<\/li>\n<li>The new standard\u00a0includes the following features\n<ul>\n<li>It provides for implementation of digital highways by developing integrated utility corridors along the national highways to develop\u00a0optic fibre cables (OFC) infrastructure.<\/li>\n<li>Under the new standards,\u00a0the existing VIDS cameras will be replaced with the\u00a0Video Incident Detection and Enforcement System (VIDES) to emphasize the digital enforcement of traffic rules.<\/li>\n<li>For comprehensive coverage, these cameras are slated for installation every\u00a010 km along national Highways and the feeds from these cameras will be integrated at the command and control centres located at every 100 km<\/li>\n<li>Vehicle speed detection system (VSDS) is now integrated into VIDES, optimizing use of automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras.<\/li>\n<li>Depending on the detected incident, VIDES will\u00a0alert route patrol vehicles or ambulances, generate e-challans, relay alerts to nearby variable messaging boards, or\u00a0send notifications through \u2018Rajmargyatra\u2019 mobile app to nearby travellers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>These measures play an\u00a0active role in disaster management by providing inputs for effective planning and implementation.<\/li>\n<li>It will also provide online sharing of highway status and other important information that will help both the agencies and the highway users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>\u00a0Q1) What is\u00a0Rajmarg Yatra app<\/h3>\n<p>The Rajmarg Yatra app is a citizen-centric unified mobile application launched by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on August 5, 2023.
