(Kongali means poor)<\/li>\n<li>There are\u00a0another two Bihu festivals celebrated in Assam &#8211;\u00a0Bhogali or Magh Bihu is observed in January and\u00a0Rongali or Bohag Bihu is observed in the month of April.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Significance\n<ul>\n<li>During this month, there are not so many things to eat.<\/li>\n<li>They celebrate this festival by lighting the earthen lamps or candles and lit their house with lighting.<\/li>\n<li>Lighting diya near Tulsi plant is one of the main part of the festival. They worship Tulsi plant on this auspicious day.<\/li>\n<li>People also light a special lamp\u00a0called &#8220;Akash Banti&#8221; (Sky candle) in their paddy fields.<\/li>\n<li>These lamps are fueled by mustard oil and are kept high on the tip of bamboo poles.<\/li>\n<li>People believe that these\u00a0lighted lamps will guide their ancestors towards heaven.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is Rongali Bihu?<\/h3>\n<p>It is also known as Bohag Bihu which is a widely celebrated festival in the Indian state of Assam. It is an agricultural festival that marks the Assamese New Year and coincides with the arrival of spring.
