This\u00a0supplies the Hooghly with adequate water even in the dry season.<\/li>\n<li>Haldi, Ajay, Damodar, and Rupnarayan are the rivers that\u00a0feed the lower reaches of the\u00a0Hooghly.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0important cities near the Hoogli River are\u00a0Jiaganj, Azimganj, Murshidabad, and Baharampur.<\/li>\n<li>It is\u00a0spanned by a cantilever bridge between Haora and Kolkata and by the\u00a0Bally Bridge between Bally and Baranagar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What are tides?<\/h3>\n<p>Tides are very long-period waves that move through the ocean in response to the forces exerted by the moon and sun.
