{"id":16412,"date":"2023-10-28T05:28:58","date_gmt":"2023-10-27T23:58:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=16412"},"modified":"2025-04-04T09:13:25","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T03:43:25","slug":"saras-aajeevika-mela","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/saras-aajeevika-mela\/","title":{"rendered":"Saras Aajeevika Mela"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Saras Aajeevika Mela<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an initiative by the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) of\u00a0Ministry of Rural Development.<\/li>\n<li>Aim: To bring\u00a0the rural women Self Help Group members under one platform to showcase their skills, sell their products and help them build linkages with potential market players.<\/li>\n<li>It is organised by the\u00a0Ministry of Rural Development and\u00a0National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Key facts about DAY-NRLM<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a\u00a0flagship rural poverty alleviation program of the Government of India.<\/li>\n<li>It addresses multiple dimensions of poverty, the programme aims to reach out to 10 Crore rural poor households and organize one woman member from each rural household into affinity-based women SHGs.<\/li>\n<li>These SHGs provide close, long-term handholding support to their members, enabling them to\u00a0access financial services from banks, diversify and stabilize their livelihoods, and effectively access their entitlements with ease.<\/li>\n<li>Objective: To ensure that each family is able to\u00a0achieve household food security and have more than\u00a0one stabilized livelihood source.<\/li>\n<li>The Mission seeks to achieve its objective through investing in four core components viz.,\n<ul>\n<li>Social mobilization, promotion and strengthening of self-managed and financially sustainable community institutions of the rural poor.<\/li>\n<li>Financial inclusion of the rural poor<\/li>\n<li>Sustainable livelihoods; and<\/li>\n<li>Social inclusion, social development, and convergence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is a Self-Help Group?<\/h3>\n<p>It is a small, informal association of individuals who come together to address common goals or challenges. These groups are typically formed to promote self-reliance and to support members in achieving financial independence.
