{"id":16494,"date":"2024-10-01T07:36:40","date_gmt":"2024-10-01T02:06:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=16494"},"modified":"2025-04-04T19:47:08","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T14:17:08","slug":"kazind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/kazind\/","title":{"rendered":"Exercise KAZIND"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Exercise KAZIND:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a joint\u00a0<strong>military Exercise<\/strong>\u00a0held every year between\u00a0<strong>India-Kazakhstan.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Indian Armed Forces, comprising 120 personnel, are being represented by a battalion of the\u00a0<strong>KUMAON Regiment<\/strong>\u00a0of the Indian Army, along with other arms and services, as well as personnel from the Indian<strong>\u00a0Air Force.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Kazakhstan contingent will be represented mainly by personnel from Land Forces and Airborne Assault Troopers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim<\/strong>: To enhance joint military capability of both sides to undertake\u00a0<strong>counter terrorism operations<\/strong>\u00a0in a sub conventional scenario under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter.<\/li>\n<li>It will focus on operations in the\u00a0<strong>semi-urban and mountainous terrain<\/strong>. Objectives to be achieved from the Joint Exercise are high degree of physical fitness, rehearsing and refining drills for operations at tactical level and sharing of best practices.<\/li>\n<li>Tactical drills to be rehearsed during the Joint Exercise include joint response to a terrorist action, establishment of a Joint Command Post, establishment of an Intelligence and Surveillance Centre<\/li>\n<li>Joint Exercise KAZIND-2024 will enable both sides to share best practices in tactics, techniques and procedures of conducting joint operations.<\/li>\n<li>It will facilitate developing inter-operability, bonhomie and camaraderie between the two armies. The Joint Exercise will also enhance defence cooperation, further augmenting bilateral relations between the two friendly nations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is the Kumaon Regiment ?<\/h3>\n<p>It is the most decorated regiment of the Indian Army. The regiment traces its origins to the 18th century and has fought in every major campaign of the British Indian Army and the Indian Army, including the two world wars.
