Educational institutions, Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti, Gram Panchayat, cooperative societies, etc have accounts in this bank.<\/li>\n<li>All the\u00a0financial transactions of co-operative sector are conducted through DCCB.<\/li>\n<li>DCCBs have\u00a0three sources of funds:\n<ul>\n<li>Their own share capital and reserves<\/li>\n<li>Deposits\u00a0from the public and<\/li>\n<li>Loans from the state co-operative banks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0main functions of\u00a0the DCCBs are<\/li>\n<li>To\u00a0meet the credit requirements of member-societies<\/li>\n<li>To\u00a0perform banking business<\/li>\n<li>To act as a\u00a0balancing centre for the Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS)\u00a0by diverting the surplus funds of some societies to those which face shortages of funds<\/li>\n<li>To\u00a0undertake non-credit activities<\/li>\n<li>To\u00a0maintain close and continuous\u00a0contact with PACS\u00a0and\u00a0provide leadership\u00a0and guidance to them<\/li>\n<li>To supervise and inspect the PACS\u00a0and<\/li>\n<li>To\u00a0provide a safe place for the\u00a0investment of the resources of PACs<\/li>\n<li>They\u00a0also lend directly to the public for non-agricultural purposes within the area of operation of their branches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What are Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS)?<\/h3>\n<p>Primary Agricultural Credit Societies are the grass root level arms of the short-term co-operative credit structure. PACS deals directly with the rural (agricultural) borrowers, give those loans and collect repayments of loans given and also undertake distribution and marketing functions. They occupy a predominant position in the co-operative credit structure and form its base.
