{"id":16585,"date":"2023-11-02T01:27:06","date_gmt":"2023-11-01T19:57:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=16585"},"modified":"2025-04-04T21:59:23","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T16:29:23","slug":"one-nation-one-registration-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/one-nation-one-registration-platform\/","title":{"rendered":"One nation one registration platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About One nation one registration platform<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The NMC will unveil a patch pilot of the\u00a0National Medical Register (NMR) in the next six months where doctors will be allotted a\u00a0unique identification number.<\/li>\n<li>Doctors can also apply for their licence to work in any State depending on where they are.<\/li>\n<li>The commission had earlier this year issued a gazette notification titled \u201cRegistration of Medical Practitioners and Licence to Practice Medicine Regulations, 2023\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The idea is to\u00a0provide a masked ID to undergraduate students on the NMR and depending on when they complete their course the ID is unmasked and allotted.<\/li>\n<li>This ID\u00a0can be used to update any further qualification and all State registers for licence to work in any part of the country will be linked here\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Aim: To eliminate duplication, red tape and allow the public to access information on any physician working in India.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Key facts about National Medical Commission:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It has been constituted by an act of Parliament known\u00a0as National Medical Commission Act, 2019.<\/li>\n<li>It has replaced the Medical Council of India (MCI), constituted under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956).<\/li>\n<li>Functions:\n<ul>\n<li>It\u00a0regulates medical education and medical professionals.<\/li>\n<li>It grants recognition of medical qualifications, gives accreditation to medical schools, grants registration to medical practitioners, monitors medical practice and assesses the medical infrastructure in India.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Organisational structure\n<ul>\n<li>It consists of\u00a033 members\u00a0including Chairman (medical professionals only), 10 ex-officio members and 22 part time members.<\/li>\n<li>Medical Advisory Council: It provides the platform through which the states or UTs can put forth their views and concerns before the NMC and advises the NMC on measures to determine and maintain minimum standards of medical education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Headquarters: New Delhi<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is Hippocratic Oath?<\/h3>\n<p>It is a historical document that is often associated with the ethical principles and guidelines that physicians and medical professionals should follow.
