UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) under the Gastronomy category during the 43rd Session of the UNESCO General Conference.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About UNESCO Creative Cities Network<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>created in 2004<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to promote cooperation among cities that have identified creativity as a strategic factor for <\/span><b>sustainable urban development.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was launched to <\/span><b>promote UNESCO\u2019s goals of cultural diversity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and strengthen resilience to threats such as climate change, rising inequality, and rapid urbanisation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The network <\/span><b>covers seven creative fields<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: crafts and folk arts, media arts, film, design, gastronomy, literature and music.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Aim of UCCN:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The network is aimed at leveraging the creative, social, and economic potential of cultural industries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Indian Cities in the UCCN: Kozhikode<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Literature) and <\/span><b>Gwalior<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Music) <\/span><b>Jaipur<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Crafts and Folk Arts),<\/span><b> Varanasi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Music), <\/span><b>Chennai <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Music), <\/span><b>Mumbai <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Film), <\/span><b>Hyderabad<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Gastronomy), <\/span><b>Lucknow<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Gastronomy), and <\/span><b>Srinagar<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Crafts and Folk Arts).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Objectives of the UCCN<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It allows member cities to recognise creativity as an essential component of urban development, notably through partnerships involving the public and private sectors and civil society.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>envisages developing hubs of creativity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, innovation and broadening opportunities for creators and professionals in the cultural sector.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These cities have to achieve the UN agenda of sustainable
