{"id":17140,"date":"2023-11-19T11:01:33","date_gmt":"2023-11-19T05:31:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=17140"},"modified":"2025-04-05T02:24:52","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T20:54:52","slug":"gtci","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/gtci\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI), 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It\u00a0measures how countries grow, attract, and retain talent.<\/li>\n<li>It is\u00a0an annual benchmarking\u00a0report published by the\u00a0prestigious\u00a0chain of business schools, INSEAD.<\/li>\n<li>It provides\u00a0a unique resource\u00a0for decision-makers to understand the\u00a0global\u00a0talent competitiveness picture and develop strategies to boost their economies.<\/li>\n<li>The index\u00a0uses two sub-indices: input and output.\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0input measures regulatory and business environments, as well as\u00a0steps being taken\u00a0to foster talent and retain it.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0output side evaluates the quality of talent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Highlights of GTCI 2023:\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a010th edition of the report\u00a0covers 134 countries around the world\u00a0across all income groups.<\/li>\n<li>Singapore, Switzerland, and\u00a0the United States\u00a0are among\u00a0the top three countries on the index.<\/li>\n<li>Denmark, the Netherlands, Finland, Norway, Australia, Sweden, and the United Kingdom make up the rest of the Top 10.<\/li>\n<li>India is ranked 103, the\u00a0worst among that of the BRICS countries. China remains at the top of the BRICS group of countries at rank 40, Russia is at 52, South Africa is at 68 and Brazil is ranked at 69.<\/li>\n<li>Other countries ranking better than India are Rwanda,\u00a0Paraguay, Tunisia, Namibia,\u00a0Bolivia, Ghana, El Salvador, Gambia, Kenya, Morocco, and Eswatini.<\/li>\n<li>As per the report,\u00a0other emerging countries have shown improvements on this index,\u00a0with China, Indonesia, and Mexico being cited for special mention.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is BRICS Grouping?<\/h3>\n<p>BRICS is an acronym for Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
