This difference sets apart one isotope from another.<\/li>\n<li>Many isotopes\u00a0are also unstable, especially those whose atoms have too few neutrons for the number of protons.<\/li>\n<li>Unstable isotopes are short-lived, and often decay by releasing some energy to achieve a more stable configuration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What are nuclides?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an\u00a0analogous table for atomic nuclei characterised by a unique\u00a0combination of protons and neutrons.<\/li>\n<li>A table or chart of nuclides is a two-dimensional graph of isotopes of the elements.<\/li>\n<li>One axis shows\u00a0the number of neutrons (N) and the other shows\u00a0the number of protons (Z) in each atomic nucleus.<\/li>\n<li>Each point on the graph denotes a nuclide.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What are Neutrons?<\/h3>\n<p>Neutrons are electrically neutral particles with mass approximately equal to that of a hydrogen atom. High-energy neutrons are emitted from a chemical source.
