The eggshells may have had a texture similar to leather. It provides &#8220;strong evidence&#8221; for the earliest known &#8220;leathery&#8221; eggs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What are Sauropods?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Sauropods were the\u00a0dominant herbivores\u00a0of the\u00a0Jurassic period and were characterized by their\u00a0long necks, long tails, and four-legged stance.<\/li>\n<li>They were\u00a0some of the largest land animals ever to walk on Earth. They\u00a0often reached lengths of up to 40 to 150 feet\u00a0or more from head to tail.<\/li>\n<li>Sauropods\u00a0typically\u00a0weigh between 20 and 70 tons, which is equivalent to 10 to 35 elephants.<\/li>\n<li>They had\u00a0relatively small skulls and brains\u00a0and erect limbs reminiscent of the limbs of elephants.<\/li>\n<li>They were also\u00a0one of the longest-living groups, existing for\u00a0approximately 1040 million years in a wide variety of habitats around the world.<\/li>\n<li>Fossilized bones or footprints belonging to sauropods have been\u00a0found on every continent except Antarctica.<\/li>\n<li>Their\u00a0greatest abundance was during the Jurassic Period, but they continued to exist until the Upper Cretaceous period, when many other dinosaur species went extinct.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is the Jurassic epoch?<\/h3>\n<p>It is a division of the geologic timescale and is the second epoch of the Mesozoic Era. It lasted from approximately 201.3 million years ago to 145 million years ago.
