{"id":17332,"date":"2023-11-24T11:01:44","date_gmt":"2023-11-24T05:31:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=17332"},"modified":"2025-04-05T03:38:05","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T22:08:05","slug":"pm-shri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pm-shri\/","title":{"rendered":"Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) scheme<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a\u00a0centrally sponsored scheme by the Government of India,\u00a0announced in 2022.<\/li>\n<li>Objective:\u00a0Development of\u00a0more than\u00a014,500 schools across the country\u00a0by strengthening the existing schools among those\u00a0managed by the Central government\/State\/UT Government\/local bodies.<\/li>\n<li>It\u00a0will nurture students in such a way that they become engaged, productive, and contributing citizens for building an equitable, inclusive, and plural society\u00a0as envisaged by the National Education Policy 2020.<\/li>\n<li>The duration\u00a0of the scheme\u00a0is from 2022-23 to 2026-27,\u00a0after\u00a0which\u00a0it shall be the responsibility of the States\/UTs to continue to maintain the benchmarks\u00a0achieved by these schools.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0total cost\u00a0of the project will be Rs 27360 crore spread over a period of 5 years, which includes the central share of Rs 18128 crore.<\/li>\n<li>The selection of PM SHRI schools will be\u00a0done through Challenge Mode, wherein schools compete\u00a0for support to become exemplar schools.<\/li>\n<li>Features:\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0selected schools will\u00a0act as exemplar schools, showcasing all components of the\u00a0National Education Policy 2020\u00a0(NEP) and\u00a0offering mentorship to other schools in their vicinity.<\/li>\n<li>The PM SHRI Schools\u00a0will be\u00a0developed as Green Schools, incorporating environment-friendly aspects.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0pedagogy adopted in these schools will be more experiential, holistic, integrated, play\/toy-based (particularly in the foundational years),\u00a0inquiry-driven, discovery-oriented, learner-centric,\u00a0discussion-based, flexible, and enjoyable.<\/li>\n<li>The focus\u00a0will be on the learning outcomes of every child\u00a0in every grade.<\/li>\n<li>Assessment at all levels\u00a0will be based on conceptual understanding and application of knowledge to real-life situations and\u00a0will be competency-based.<\/li>\n<li>Linkage with Sector Skill Councils and local industry for enhancing employability and providing better employment opportunities will be explored.<\/li>\n<li>A School Quality Assessment Framework (SQAF) is being developed, specifying the key performance indicators to measure outcomes.
