{"id":17420,"date":"2024-09-19T06:30:21","date_gmt":"2024-09-19T01:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=17420"},"modified":"2025-10-13T12:31:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T07:01:10","slug":"reit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/reit\/","title":{"rendered":"What are Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs)?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>REITs are <strong>companies that own or finance income-producing real estate<\/strong> across a range of property sectors.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It <strong>allows investors<\/strong> to <strong>pool their funds<\/strong> and <strong>invest in<\/strong> various <strong>real estate projects.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Essentially, it functions <strong>like a mutual fund for real estate<\/strong> investments.<\/li>\n<li>These trusts own and oversee a portfolio of income-generating properties, such as office buildings, hotels, shopping malls, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Unlike other real estate companies, a REIT <strong>does not develop real estate properties to resell<\/strong> them.
