{"id":17549,"date":"2023-11-29T06:50:38","date_gmt":"2023-11-29T01:20:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=17549"},"modified":"2025-04-05T05:02:59","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T23:32:59","slug":"ncc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/ncc\/","title":{"rendered":"National Cadet Corps"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About National Cadet Corps<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a\u00a0Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth into disciplined and patriotic citizens.<\/li>\n<li>It came into existence under the\u00a0National Cadet Corps Act XXXI of 1948 under the\u00a0Ministry of Defence (MoD).<\/li>\n<li>It is a voluntary organization which recruits\u00a0cadets from high schools, colleges and universities all over India.<\/li>\n<li>The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. They are given preference in military service over normal candidates during selections.<\/li>\n<li>Aims\n<ul>\n<li>To\u00a0develop qualities of character, courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and sportsmanship and ideals of selfless service among the youth to make them useful citizens.<\/li>\n<li>To create a\u00a0human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth to provide leadership in all walks of life including the Armed Forces, and be always available for the service of the nation.<\/li>\n<li>To create a suitable environment to motivate the youth\u00a0to take up a career in the armed forces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It is\u00a0headed by the\u00a0Director General (DG), an Army Officer of the rank of Lieutnant General.<\/li>\n<li>Headquarter: New Delhi.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is a NCC Directorate?<\/h3>\n<p>The NCC at the state level is divided into 17 Directorates, in which each state or group of states forms a Directorate. The smaller states and union territories are attached with Directorates of the bigger states.
