


{"id":17952,"date":"2025-05-10T10:48:31","date_gmt":"2025-05-10T05:18:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=17952"},"modified":"2025-05-27T10:59:47","modified_gmt":"2025-05-27T05:29:47","slug":"pmfme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pmfme\/","title":{"rendered":"Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme Latest News<\/h2>\n<p>Bihar secured first position in the country for successfully implementing the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises(PMFME) scheme in the financial year 2024-25, said the industries minister recently.<\/p>\n<h2>About Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Launched on June 29, 2020, PMFMPE is a\u00a0<strong>Centrally Sponsored Scheme by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is designed to\u00a0<strong>address the challenges faced by micro-enterprises\u00a0<\/strong>and to tap the potential of groups and cooperatives to s<strong>upport the upgradation and formalization of these enterprises.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Objectives:<\/strong>\u00a0To\u00a0<strong>build the capability of microenterprises to enable:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Increased access to credit<\/strong>\u00a0by existing micro food processing entrepreneurs, FPOs, self-help groups, and co-operatives.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Integration with an organized supply chain<\/strong>\u00a0by strengthening branding &amp; marketing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support for the transition\u00a0<\/strong>of existing 200,000 enterprises\u00a0<strong>into a formal framework.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Increased access to common services<\/strong>\u00a0like common processing facilities, laboratories, storage, packaging, marketing, and incubation services.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Strengthening of institutions, research, and training<\/strong>\u00a0in the food processing sector; and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Increased access<\/strong>\u00a0for enterprises t<strong>o professional and technical support.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Outlay:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The scheme envisages an outlay of \u20b9 10,000 crores over a period of five years from 2020-21 to 2024-25.<\/li>\n<li>The expenditure under the scheme would be shared in a<strong>\u00a060:40 ratio between Central and State Governments,<\/strong>\u00a0in a 90:10 ratio with the Northeastern and the Himalayan States, a 60:40 ratio with UTs with the legislature, and 100% by the Center for other UTs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Coverage:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Under<\/strong>\u00a0the scheme,\u00a0<strong>2,00,000 micro food processing units will be directly assisted with credit-linked subsidies.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Adequate,\u00a0<strong>supportive common infrastructure and institutional architecture will be supported<\/strong>\u00a0to accelerate the growth of the sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Benefits<\/strong>: The program has four broad components addressing the needs of the sector:\n<ul>\n<li>Support to individuals and groups of micro-enterprises.<\/li>\n<li>Branding and Marketing support.<\/li>\n<li>Support the strengthening of institutions.<\/li>\n<li>Setting up a robust project management framework.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Financial Support:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Support to Individual micro units:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Micro enterprises will get\u00a0<strong>credit-linked subsidy @ 35% of the eligible project cost with a ceiling of Rs.10 lakh.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Beneficiary contribution<\/strong>\u00a0will be a\u00a0<strong>minimum 10% and balance from the loan.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>On-site skill training &amp; Handholding for DPR and technical upgradation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support to FPOs\/SHGs\/Cooperatives:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Seed capital will be given to SHGs<\/strong>\u00a0(@Rs. 4 lakh per SHG) f<strong>or loans to members for working capital and small tools.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Credit linked capital subsidy @35% subject to a maximum of Rs. 3 crore, to support FPOs, SHGs, Cooperatives, and any Government agency for setting up common infrastructure.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Grant upto 50% for Branding and Marketing to groups of FPOs\/ SHGs\/ Cooperatives or an SPV of micro food processing enterprises.<\/li>\n<li>Skill training &amp;
