{"id":17960,"date":"2023-12-09T03:48:42","date_gmt":"2023-12-08T22:18:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=17960"},"modified":"2025-04-05T07:47:04","modified_gmt":"2025-04-05T02:17:04","slug":"heritage-2-0-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/heritage-2-0-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Adopt a Heritage 2.0 Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Adopt a Heritage 2.0 Program<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a revamped version of the earlier scheme launched in 2017 and clearly defines the amenities sought for different monuments as per AMASR Act 1958.<\/li>\n<li>The programme seeks collaboration with the private\/public sector companies \/ trusts \/ societies \/ NGOs etc. through\u00a0their CSR funding who intend to provide, develop, and maintain \u2018amenities\u2019 at\u00a0centrally protected monuments and sites.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0The stakeholders can apply for adopting a monument or specific amenities at a monument through a dedicated web portal (www.indianheritage.gov.in)<\/li>\n<li>It contains details of monuments sought for adoption along with gap analysis and financial estimation of amenities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What is Adopt a Heritage Scheme?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an initiative of\u00a0the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the\u00a0Ministry of Culture and the Archaeological Survey of India.<\/li>\n<li>It was launched in September 2017 on World Tourism Day.<\/li>\n<li>Under it, the government invites entities, including public sector companies, private sector firms, as well as individuals, to develop selected monuments and heritage and tourist sites across India.<\/li>\n<li>The project aims to encourage these entities to become \u2018Monument Mitras\u2019 and take up the responsibility of developing and upgrading the basic and advanced tourist amenities at these sites.<\/li>\n<li>The corporate sector is expected to\u00a0use corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds for the upkeep of the site.<\/li>\n<li>The Monument Mitras, in turn, will get limited visibility on the site premises and on the Incredible India website<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What Is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)?<\/h3>\n<p>Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a self-regulating business model that helps a company be socially accountable to itself, its stakeholders, and the public.
