{"id":18134,"date":"2023-12-14T04:15:40","date_gmt":"2023-12-13T22:45:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=18134"},"modified":"2025-04-05T08:55:00","modified_gmt":"2025-04-05T03:25:00","slug":"kbs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/kbs\/","title":{"rendered":"Kazhuveli Bird Sanctuary"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Kazhuveli Bird Sanctuary<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is located in the state\u00a0of Tamil Nadu.<\/li>\n<li>It lies\u00a0adjacent to the Bay of Bengal along the east coast.<\/li>\n<li>It is one of the major wetlands on the\u00a0Coromandel Coast after Pulicat Lake.<\/li>\n<li>The lake is connected to the Bay of Bengal by the\u00a0Uppukalli Creek and the\u00a0Yedayanthittu estuary and is visited for nesting by migratory birds on the Central Asian flyway.<\/li>\n<li>The southern part of the wetland has been reserved land since 2001.<\/li>\n<li>It is listed as one of Tamil Nadu\u2019s 141 prioritised wetlands, Kazhuveli is also a wetland of international significance and a potential Ramsar site<\/li>\n<li>Kazhuveli has varied habitats including sloping wetlands preferred by shore birds, darters and waders, birds on floating vegetation and open grasslands preferred by different species of birds and fauna.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The lake has a feeding ground for long-distance migrants from the cold subarctic regions of Central Asia and Siberia including\u00a0Black-tailed Godwits, Eurasian Curlew, White Stork, Ruff and Dunlin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) Where is Pulicat Lake?<\/h3>\n<p>It lies at the border of the states of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. (Majorly lies in Andhra Pradesh).
