


{"id":18313,"date":"2026-04-07T13:14:14","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T07:44:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=18313"},"modified":"2026-04-07T14:26:37","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T08:56:37","slug":"guru-teg-bahadur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/guru-teg-bahadur\/","title":{"rendered":"Guru Tegh Bahadur"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Guru Tegh Bahadur Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Prime Minister of India offered homage to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, a towering spiritual great of our civilization, on the sacred occasion of Parkash Purab.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Guru Tegh Bahadur<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Guru Tegh Bahadur (1621\u20131675) was the <\/span><b>ninth of ten Gurus of the Sikh religion.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He was <\/span><b>born as Tyaga Mal.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He came to be known by the <\/span><b>name Teg Bahadur<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Mighty of The Sword), given to him by <\/span><b>Guru Hargobind<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> after he showed his valour in a battle against the Mughals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 1664, Guru Teg Bahadur <\/span><b>succeeded Guru Har Krishan Ji<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as the ninth Sikh Guru.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He was revered with the <\/span><b>honour of &#8216;Hind Di Chadar&#8217;.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He\u00a0 raised an army against the Mughals and introduced the <\/span><b>concept of warrior saints.<\/b><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Life and Works<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He built the <\/span><b>city of Anandpur Sahib<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (in Rupnagar\/Ropar district, on the edge of Shivalik Hills, near the Sutlej River, in Punjab).\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here the last two Sikh Gurus lived and where Guru Gobind Singh Ji founded the Khalsa Panth in 1699.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He contributed more than <\/span><b>100 poetic hymns<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the <\/span><b>Granth Sahib<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which cover various topics, such as the nature of God, human attachments, body, mind, dignity, service, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His martyrdom is remembered as the <\/span><b>Shaheedi Divas of Guru Tegh Bahadur<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> every year on <\/span><b>24 November,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> according to the <\/span><b>Nanakshahi calendar<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> released by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in 2003.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2249531&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guru Tegh Bahadur was the ninth of ten Gurus of the Sikh religion.
