{"id":18340,"date":"2026-04-06T13:10:42","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T07:40:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=18340"},"modified":"2026-04-06T15:54:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T10:24:17","slug":"udanti-sitanadi-tiger-reserve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/udanti-sitanadi-tiger-reserve\/","title":{"rendered":"Udanti- Sitanadi Tiger Reserve"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Udanti- Sitanadi Tiger Reserve Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, a rare Indian giant flying squirrel, a native of Western Ghats, was found in the Udanti- Sitanadi tiger reserve (USTR) in Chhattisgarh.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Udanti- Sitanadi Tiger Reserve<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Location: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is located in the <\/span><b>state of Chhattisgarh.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was established by joining the regions represented by <\/span><b>Sitanadi and Udanti wildlife sanctuaries.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Rivers:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The drainage system of the reserve consists of <\/span><b>the Mahanadi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as the main river, along with the <\/span><b>Udanti, Sitanadi, Indravan, and Pairi Rivers as tributaries.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The location of the reserve is strategic since it also connects with the Kanker and North Kondagaon forest divisions, forming a contiguous <\/span><b>forest corridor to Indravati Tiger Reserve in the Bastar region.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are 19 named mountains in the reserve. <\/span><b>Deo Dongri<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the highest point.
