{"id":18390,"date":"2026-10-14T12:20:10","date_gmt":"2026-10-14T06:50:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=18390"},"modified":"2026-10-14T14:54:19","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T09:24:19","slug":"ncf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/ncf\/","title":{"rendered":"National Culture Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>National Culture Fund Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), the National Culture Fund and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for conservation and development of heritage sites.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Culture Fund<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>set up as a Trust on 28th November, 1996<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the Charitable Endowment Act, 1890.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Objectives of National Culture Fund<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To administer and apply the <\/span><b>Fund for conservation, maintenance, promotion, protection<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, preservation and up-gradation of <\/span><b>monuments protected or otherwise;<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>impart training and facilitate<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> development of a cadre of specialists and cultural administrators<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To facilitate in providing <\/span><b>additional space in existing museums &amp; construct new museums<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to accommodate or create new &amp; special galleries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Documentation of cultural expressions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and forms that have lost their relevance in contemporary scenarios and are either fading out or facing extinction.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Governance of<\/b> <b>National Culture Fund<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is managed and administered through a <\/span><b>Governing Council chaired by the Hon\u2019ble Minister of Culture <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and has a maximum <\/span><b>strength of 25 members to decide the policies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An Executive Committee headed by Secretary (Culture) and has a maximum strength of 11 Members, to execute those policies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Benefits to donors: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Donations to the National Culture Fund are <\/span><b>eligible for 100% tax benefit under Section 80G<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ii) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NCF\u2019s activities are <\/span><b>covered under Schedule VII No. (v)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the <\/span><b>Companies Act, 2013<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as valid receptacle of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contribution under:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Protection of national heritage, art and culture including restoration of buildings and sites of historical importance and works of art; setting up public libraries; promotion and development of traditional arts and handicrafts.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Contribution to NCF:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 It can <\/span><b>receive donations from Corporates, PSUs, Trusts and Individuals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for maintenance and preservation of Centrally Protected monuments\/ cultural projects through NCF.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleaseDetail.aspx?PRID=2322976&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Culture Fund was set up as a Trust on 28th November, 1996 under the Charitable Endowment Act, 1890.
