{"id":18447,"date":"2026-05-26T11:54:27","date_gmt":"2026-05-26T06:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=18447"},"modified":"2026-05-26T15:12:26","modified_gmt":"2026-05-26T09:42:26","slug":"pm-ajay-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pm-ajay-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"PM-AJAY Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>PM-AJAY Scheme Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) launched the PM-AJAY portal and AJAY mobile application to fully digitise implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About PM-AJAY Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PM AJAY <\/span><b>(Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> scheme is a comprehensive initiative <\/span><b>launched in FY 2021-22.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is aimed at the <\/span><b>socio-economic upliftment of Scheduled Castes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SCs).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a merger scheme of three erstwhile Centrally Sponsored Schemes, namely, <\/span><b>Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY), Special Central Assistance to Scheduled Castes Sub Plan (SCA to SCSP) and Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatrawas Yojana <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(BJRCY).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It focuses on <\/span><b>reducing poverty<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, enhancing educational opportunities, and improving infrastructure in SC-dominated areas.\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nodal Ministry:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice &amp; Empowerment.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Eligibility Criteria for the Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Scheduled Castes <\/span><b>persons living below the poverty lines<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are eligible for getting benefits under the various Income Generating Schemes and Skill Development Programmes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In case of <\/span><b>Infrastructure Development,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>villages having 50% or more SC population<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are eligible for grants under the Scheme.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Key Components of the Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Adarsh Gram Development:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Transforming <\/span><b>SC-majority villages into \u2018Adarsh Grams\u2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (model villages) by filling critical gaps in infrastructure and services.\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Grants-in-Aid for Socio-Economic Projects: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Providing financial assistance for district\/state-level projects aimed at the socio-economic betterment of SCs. This includes:\u200b<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creation of infrastructure in SC-dominated villages<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Construction of hostels\/residential schools<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Comprehensive livelihood projects, including skill development and related infrastructure.\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Financial assistance towards loans taken by beneficiaries for asset acquisition\/creation required for livelihood generation.\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Construction of Hostels: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It includes building hostels in <\/span><b>higher educational institutions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ranked under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and <\/span><b>funded by the Centre\/State\/UT Governments<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>schools <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">funded by the Centre\/State\/UT Governments and recommended by the Ministry of Education.\u200b<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/india-news\/mosje-launches-pm-ajay-portal-mobile-app-to-digitise-sc-development-scheme-across-47-000-villages-101779738001226.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">HT<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PM-AJAY Scheme is a comprehensive initiative launched in FY 2021-22.
