{"id":18467,"date":"2023-12-22T01:30:08","date_gmt":"2023-12-21T20:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=18467"},"modified":"2025-04-05T11:06:29","modified_gmt":"2025-04-05T05:36:29","slug":"paat-mitro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/paat-mitro\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Paat Mitro?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Paat Mitro<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a\u00a0mobile application developed\u00a0by the Jute Corporation of India Limited (JCI).<\/li>\n<li>Purpose: To provide important\u00a0information about\u00a0Minimum Support Prices (MSP)\u00a0and agronomy to jute farmers.<\/li>\n<li>Features:\n<ul>\n<li>It is available in\u00a0six languages.<\/li>\n<li>All the functionalities are made available to the users\u00a0free of cost.<\/li>\n<li>In addition to the latest agronomic practices and MSP,\u00a0Jute Gradation Parameters,\u00a0Farmer-centric schemes like \u2018Jute-ICARE\u2019,\u00a0weather forecasts, JCI\u2019s\u00a0Purchase Centers\u2019 locations, and\u00a0Procurement Policies are also\u00a0made available in the app.<\/li>\n<li>Farmers will also be\u00a0able to track the status of their payments for the raw jute sold to JCI under MSP Operation.<\/li>\n<li>Latest technology\u00a0feature like Chatbot is included for their queries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Key Facts about Jute Corporation of India Limited (JCI)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It was set up in 1971 as an\u00a0official agency\u00a0by the\u00a0Government of India with the\u00a0aim to provide\u00a0minimum support price (MSP)\u00a0to jute cultivators.<\/li>\n<li>It is the\u00a0implementing agency\u00a0of\u00a0various projects of the\u00a0Government of India for the enhancement and betterment of the Jute crop and the lives\u00a0of\u00a0Jute growers.<\/li>\n<li>It is under the administrative\u00a0control of the Ministry of Textiles.<\/li>\n<li>It\u00a0spread in 7 states which are\u00a0eminent for jute growing in India, including West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Orissa, and Andhra Pradesh.<\/li>\n<li>It has been provided with an authorised and paid-up capital of Rs. 5 crore.<\/li>\n<li>As per the policy decision of the Government, JCI is obliged to buy whatever quantity of jute is\u00a0offered at support rates by the growers without any quantitative\u00a0limit.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0losses incurred by the JCI while implementing policy are to be\u00a0reimbursed by the Government of India.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is Jute?<\/h3>\n<p>Known as the \u2018golden fibre\u2019 jute is one of the longest and most used natural fibre for various textile applications.Jute is extracted from the bark of the white jute plant (Corchorus capsularis) and to a lesser extent from tossa jute (C. olitorius). It is a natural fibre with golden and silky shine and hence called the Golden Fibre.
