{"id":18667,"date":"2023-12-27T10:40:24","date_gmt":"2023-12-27T05:10:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=18667"},"modified":"2025-04-05T12:20:45","modified_gmt":"2025-04-05T06:50:45","slug":"gaucher-disease","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/gaucher-disease\/","title":{"rendered":"Gaucher disease"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Gaucher disease<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an\u00a0inherited lysosomal storage disorder (LSD).<\/li>\n<li>It is a type of disease that causes fatty substances (sphingolipids) to build up in your bone marrow, liver and spleen.<\/li>\n<li>The sphingolipids weaken bones and enlarge your organs.<\/li>\n<li>Symptoms:\u00a0Enlarged spleen, liver, eye movement disorders and yellow spots in the eyes etc.<\/li>\n<li>There are\u00a0three types of Gaucher disease\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li>Type1:\u00a0It affects your spleen, liver, blood and bones. It doesn\u2019t affect your brain or spinal cord. Gaucher disease type 1 is treatable, but there\u2019s no cure.<\/li>\n<li>Type 2: A rare form of the disorder\u00a0appears in babies younger than 6 months old.<\/li>\n<li>It causes an enlarged spleen, movement problems and severe brain damage.
