{"id":18762,"date":"2023-12-30T02:06:42","date_gmt":"2023-12-29T20:36:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=18762"},"modified":"2025-04-05T12:56:03","modified_gmt":"2025-04-05T07:26:03","slug":"ntps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/ntps\/","title":{"rendered":"National Transit Pass System"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About National Transit Pass System<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is to facilitate the seamless\u00a0transit of timber, bamboo, and other forest produce across the country.<\/li>\n<li>Currently, the transit permits are issued for transport of timber and forest produce based on state specific transit rules.<\/li>\n<li>The NTPS is envisioned as a\u00a0&#8220;One Nation-One Pass&#8221; regime, which will enable seamless transit across the country.<\/li>\n<li>This initiative will streamline the issuance of timber transit permits by providing a unified, online mode for tree growers and farmers involved in agroforestry across the country, contributing to the ease of doing business.<\/li>\n<li>It offers seamless transit permits, managing records for both\u00a0inter-state and intra-state transportation of timber, bamboo and other forest produce obtained from various sources like\u00a0private lands, government owned forest and private depots.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0QR coded transit permits generated under NTPS will allow check gates across various states to verify the validity of the permits and allow seamless transit.<\/li>\n<li>It is designed for user convenience, featuring desktop and mobile applications for easy registration and permit applications.<\/li>\n<li>Transit permits will be issued for\u00a0tree species which are regulated, while the\u00a0users can self-generate No Objection Certificates\u00a0for exempted species.<\/li>\n<li>Presently, 25 States and Union Territories have embraced the unified permit system, streamlining interstate business operations for producers, farmers, and transporters.<\/li>\n<li>Nodal Ministry:\u00a0Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is Bamboo?<\/h3>\n<p>It is a subfamily of tall treelike grasses of the family Poaceae, comprising more than 115 genera and 1,400 species.
