Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) Project<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>MTHL is a 21.8-kilometer,\u00a0Road Bridge connecting the Indian city\u00a0of Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, its satellite city.<\/li>\n<li>It is the\u00a0longest sea bridge in India.\u00a0The total length of MTHL Bridge\u00a0is 21.8 km, of the\u00a0length on the sea is 16.50 km and the land portion is 5.5 km.<\/li>\n<li>The bridge begins in Sewri, South Mumbai, and crosses Thane Creek north of Elephant Island, and will terminate at Chirle village, near Nhava Sheva.<\/li>\n<li>The foundation stone for the MTHL project was laid in December 2016.<\/li>\n<li>85% of the MTHL project\u2019s\u00a0construction is being\u00a0financed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).<\/li>\n<li>The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) manages the MTHL construction.<\/li>\n<li>Project Benefits:\n<ul>\n<li>The MTHL Bridge gives\u00a0faster connectivity with the proposed Navi Mumbai International Airport, JNPT Port,\u00a0Mumbai\u2013Pune Expressway, and Mumbai\u2013Goa Highway.<\/li>\n<li>On the Mumbai side, connectivity with the coastal road is planned through the Sewri Worli Elevated Connector project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Features:\n<ul>\n<li>This\u00a0concrete bridge will feature a 4 km steel span section in the middle to\u00a0allow for ships to pass underneath.<\/li>\n<li>It also incorporates seven\u00a0orthotropic steel deck (OSD) spans, ranging from 90m to 180m, a\u00a0first-of-its-kind application in India.<\/li>\n<li>MTHL will feature an\u00a0intelligence transport system (ITS) and the other amenities required for a marine bridge.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0traffic conditions on the stretch will be\u00a0monitored and managed from the traffic control centre with the help of CCTV cameras and related facilities installed on the stretch.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr
