The\u00a0<strong>Indian pangolin<\/strong>\u00a0is common across\u00a0<strong>India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Diet and Ecosystem Role:\u00a0<\/strong>They feed primarily on\u00a0<strong>ants and termites<\/strong>, contributing to\u00a0<strong>pest control and soil aeration<\/strong>, making them\u00a0<strong>crucial for ecosystem balance<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Threats:\u00a0<\/strong>They are heavily targeted for\u00a0<strong>illegal trade in Asia<\/strong>, where their\u00a0<strong>scales are used in traditional medicine<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>meat is considered a delicacy<\/strong>.
