{"id":18865,"date":"2024-01-02T10:12:43","date_gmt":"2024-01-02T04:42:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=18865"},"modified":"2025-04-05T13:45:03","modified_gmt":"2025-04-05T08:15:03","slug":"e-scr-portal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/e-scr-portal\/","title":{"rendered":"What is an e-SCR portal?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About e-SCR portal<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an initiative to provide the\u00a0digital version of the apex court&#8217;s judgments in the manner as they are reported in the official law report.<\/li>\n<li>The Supreme Court has developed a search engine with the help\u00a0of the National Informatics Centre.<\/li>\n<li>It comprises elastic search technique in the database of e-SCR and the search facility in e-SCR provides for free text search, search within search, case type and case year search, judge search, year and volume search and bench strength search options.<\/li>\n<li>It will provide free access to it\u2019s about 34,000 judgements to lawyers, law students and the common public.<\/li>\n<li>These verdicts will be available on the apex court website, its mobile app and on the judgment portal of the\u00a0National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Key facts about National Judicial Data Grid<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is\u00a0a national repository of data relating to\u00a0cases instituted, pending, and disposed of by the courts across the length and breadth of the country.<\/li>\n<li>It has been\u00a0developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) in close coordination with the in-house software development team of the Computer Cell, Registry with an interactive interface and analytics dashboard.<\/li>\n<li>The entire database shall be\u00a0periodically updated on the NJDG portal.<\/li>\n<li>Through this one may access case related information, statistics such as institution, pendency and disposal of cases, case-types, year-wise break-up of the Supreme Court of India.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is the National Informatics Centre?<\/h3>\n<p>It is a premier Indian government department under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
