It\u00a0arises from an error during female cell division\u00a0to produce an egg, followed by double-fertilization by two sperm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>About Green Honeycreeper<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a\u00a0small bird in the tanager family.<\/li>\n<li>Scientific Name: Chlorophanes spiza<\/li>\n<li>Distribution: The\u00a0New World Tropics (Rainforests in Central and South America), from Mexico to Brazil.<\/li>\n<li>Features:\n<ul>\n<li>It is 13\u201314 cm long and weighs 14 to 23 grams.<\/li>\n<li>Its\u00a0plumage is strikingly sexually dimorphic. The\u00a0male is mainly blue-tinged green with a black head and a mostly bright yellow bill. The\u00a0female is grass-green, paler on the throat, and lacks the male&#8217;s iridescence and black head.<\/li>\n<li>They are called Green Honeycreepers because the\u00a0females and young birds are bright green with red eyes.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Although\u00a0males have,\u00a0on average, slightly longer wings and tails than females, there is considerable variation within each sex and much overlap.<\/li>\n<li>It\u00a0feeds largely on nectar, fruit, and insects and often frequents feeders supplying fruit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Conservation Status:\n<ul>\n<li>IUCN Red List: Least Concern<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What are tanagers?<\/h3>\n<p>The tanagers comprise the bird family Thraupidae, in the order Passeriformes. The family has a Neotropical distribution and is the second-largest family of birds. It represents about 4% of all avian species and 12% of the Neotropical birds.
