{"id":18953,"date":"2024-01-04T06:04:54","date_gmt":"2024-01-04T00:34:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=18953"},"modified":"2025-04-05T14:19:15","modified_gmt":"2025-04-05T08:49:15","slug":"swadesh-darshan-2-0-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/swadesh-darshan-2-0-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Swadesh Darshan 2.0 Scheme?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Swadesh Darshan Scheme<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It was launched\u00a0in 2015 by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India,\u00a0to develop sustainable and responsible tourism destinations in the country.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It is\u00a0100% centrally funded scheme.<\/li>\n<li>Under the scheme, the Ministry of Tourism\u00a0provides financial assistance to State governments, Union Territory Administrations or Central Agencies\u00a0for development of tourism infrastructure in the country.<\/li>\n<li>Operation &amp; Maintenance (O&amp;M)\u00a0of the projects sanctioned under Swadesh Darshan Scheme\u00a0is the responsibility of the respective State Government\/UT Administration.<\/li>\n<li>Swadesh Darshan 2.0:\n<ul>\n<li>The Ministry of Tourism has revamped its Swadesh Darshan scheme as Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0)\u00a0for development of sustainable and responsible tourist destinations covering tourism and allied infrastructure, tourism services, human capital development, destination management and promotion backed by policy and institutional reforms.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The objective for the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme\u00a0envisage increase in private sector investment in tourism &amp; hospitality.<\/li>\n<li>It may\u00a0help in increasing Public Private Partnerships (PPP) in the field of tourism and operation and maintenance of the created assets under the scheme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Key Facts about Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Location: It is situated in the Bargarh district of\u00a0Odisha\u00a0near the Hirakud dam (Mahanadi River).<\/li>\n<li>It finds a special mention because of noted freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai.\u00a0During\u00a0his rebellion against the British, his base at \u2018Barapathara\u201d was\u00a0located within the sanctuary.<\/li>\n<li>It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1985.<\/li>\n<li>Vegetation: Dry deciduous mixed forests.<\/li>\n<li>Flora: Major trees found here are\u00a0Sal, Asana, Bija, Aanla, Dhaura etc.<\/li>\n<li>Fauna: A huge variety of wild animals reside in the dense forest of the sanctuary, such as\u00a0Tiger, Sloth Bear, Leopard, Hyena, Spotted Deer, Antelopes, Sambar, Gaur, Nilgai, Bison, Langur Monkeys etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is a wildlife sanctuary?<\/h3>\n<p>A wildlife sanctuary is an area where birds and animals are protected and preserved safely in their native habitats, safe from criminal activities such as poaching and trafficking. A wildlife sanctuary is sometimes known as a natural reserve, a biosphere reserve, or a conservation area.
