Instead, the researchers believe it was created by at least two.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>About 30 Doradus B<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>30 Doradus B, also cataloged as\u00a0NGC 2060, is a\u00a0supernova remnant found in the\u00a0Large Magellanic Cloud, a small\u00a0satellite galaxy of the Milky Way.<\/li>\n<li>It is\u00a0part of a large star-forming region where stars have been continuously forming for the past 8 to 10 million years.<\/li>\n<li>It is a\u00a0complex landscape of dark clouds of gas, young stars, high-energy shocks, and superheated gas, located\u00a0160,000 light-years away from Earth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What is a Supernova?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>A supernova is the\u00a0explosion of a star whose\u00a0luminosity after an eruption suddenly increases\u00a0many millions of times its normal level.<\/li>\n<li>Supernovas are &#8220;the\u00a0largest explosion\u00a0that takes place in space.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>A star can go supernova in one of\u00a0two ways:\n<ul>\n<li>Type I supernova: The star\u00a0accumulates matter from\u00a0a nearby neighbour\u00a0until a runaway nuclear reaction ignites.<\/li>\n<li>Type II supernova: The star\u00a0runs out of nuclear fuel and collapses under its own gravity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Supernovas can briefly\u00a0outshine entire galaxies and\u00a0radiate more energy\u00a0than our\u00a0sun will in its entire lifetime.<\/li>\n<li>They&#8217;re also the\u00a0primary source of heavy elements in the universe.<\/li>\n<li>They\u00a0heat up the interstellar medium,\u00a0distribute heavy elements throughout the Galaxy, and\u00a0accelerate cosmic rays.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Key Facts about NASA\u2019s Chandra X-ray Observatory<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is\u00a0a telescope specially\u00a0designed to detect X-ray emission from very hot regions of the Universe, such as exploded stars, clusters of galaxies, and matter around black holes.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It\u00a0was launched by NASA\u00a0on July 23, 1999.<\/li>\n<li>Because X-rays are absorbed by Earth\u2019s atmosphere,\u00a0Chandra\u00a0must orbit above it, up to an altitude of 139,000 km (86,500 mi) in space.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What are X-rays?<\/h3>\n<p>X-rays are a form of electromagnetic radiation, similar to visible light.
