The lifespan of a sisal plant is about\u00a07-10 years, during which it produces 200-250 usable leaves.<\/li>\n<li>Each leaf has about a thousand fibres that can be\u00a0used to make ropes, paper, and cloth.<\/li>\n<li>It could be used to make a\u00a0highly absorbed material as well.<\/li>\n<li>Climatic condition\n<ul>\n<li>It is well adapted to\u00a0arid environments as the species is xerophytic in nature.<\/li>\n<li>Temperature and Rain: It can withstand a maximum temperature 40-45\u00b0C and grows well with evenly distributed rainfall of\u00a060-125 cm.<\/li>\n<li>Soil: It thrives best on dry,\u00a0permeable, sandy-loam soils with a good amount of liming materials (Ca and Mg) but can also grow on various other types of soils.<\/li>\n<li>In India it is grown in light calcareous and gravelly soils with good drainage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It is well adapted mainly in Odisha, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, part of Bihar, western part of West Bengal and many southern states.<\/li>\n<li>It is mainly\u00a0propagated by vegetative means such as \u2018bulbils\u2019 and \u2018suckers\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is Vegetative reproduction?<\/h3>\n<p>It is any form of asexual reproduction occurring in plants in which a new plant grows from a fragment of the parent plant or grows from a specialized reproductive structure (such as a stolon, rhizome, tuber, corm, or bulb).
