One of them was THCBD.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What were THCBD\u2019s effects?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Researchers tested the\u00a0antibacterial properties of\u00a0tetrahydrocannabidiol (THCBD), a semisynthetic phytocannabinoid, against\u00a0Staphylococcus aureus, the bacteria responsible for the second most number of deaths due to AMR worldwide.<\/li>\n<li>The minimum quantity found to be efficacious against a strain of Gram-positive\u00a0S. aureus used commonly in AMR research was found to be 0.25 \u03bcg\/ml, which the researchers called \u201cpotent\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>They found that THCBD \u201csignificantly reduced\u201d the number of viable microbial cells of S. aureus skin infections in mice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Key facts about Antimicrobial resistance (AMR)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a major health concern worldwide.<\/li>\n<li>It refers to when bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites\u00a0no longer respond to medicines used to treat them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is Staphylococcus aureus?<\/h3>\n<p>It is a type of bacteria.
