The\u00a0IAF has a fleet of around\u00a0100 AN-32 planes.<\/li>\n<li>Its\u00a0NATO reporting name is Cline.<\/li>\n<li>Features:\n<ul>\n<li>The aircraft is designed to\u00a0manoeuvre day and night in tropical and mountainous regions, even in\u00a0hot climatic conditions (up to 55\u00b0C).<\/li>\n<li>It is\u00a0powered by two single-shaft\u00a0turboprop engines.<\/li>\n<li>An-32 can fly at a\u00a0maximum speed of 530 km\/h, and its cruise speed is 470 km\/h.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The range and service ceiling of the aircraft are\u00a02,500km and 9,500m, respectively.<\/li>\n<li>The aircraft weighs around 16,800 kg, and its maximum take-off weight is 27,000kg.<\/li>\n<li>It can\u00a0take off and land on rough airfields and dirt runways.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The aircraft can\u00a0transport either 7.5 tons of cargo, 50 passengers, 42 paratroopers, or 24 patients and three medical crews over domestic and international air routes.<\/li>\n<li>It also has a\u00a0limited bombing role and is used for\u00a0para-trooping operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is a turboprop aircraft?<\/h3>\n<p>A turboprop aircraft uses a turbo-prop engine rather than a piston-powered engine or a jet engine. They have one or more gas-turbine engines connected to a gearbox that turns the propeller(s) to move the aircraft on the ground and through the air.
