These are known as \u2018Time of Flight\u2019 measurements.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Two types of lidar are topographic and bathymetric.\n<ul>\n<li>Topographic lidar\u00a0typically uses a near-infrared laser to map the land, while\u00a0bathymetric lidar uses water-penetrating green light to also measure seafloor and riverbed elevations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Lidar systems allow scientists and mapping professionals\u00a0to examine both natural and man-made environments\u00a0with accuracy, precision, and flexibility.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It is used in a wide range of land management and planning efforts, including hazard assessment (including lava flows, landslides, tsunamis, and floods), forestry, agriculture, geologic mapping, and watershed and river surveys.<\/li>\n<li>What is the difference between Radar and LiDAR?\n<ul>\n<li>LiDAR works in a\u00a0similar way to Radar and Sonar yet\u00a0uses light waves from a laser, instead of radio or sound waves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is a Radar?<\/h3>\n<p>The word radar comes from the acronym radio detection and ranging. As the name implies, radars use radio waves to determine the distance and velocity of the targets they hit.
