{"id":19366,"date":"2026-03-29T13:20:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-29T07:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=19366"},"modified":"2026-03-30T12:54:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T07:24:00","slug":"rashtriya-vigyan-puraskar-upsc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/rashtriya-vigyan-puraskar-upsc\/","title":{"rendered":"Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the central government has opened nominations for the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar (RVP) 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>prestigious national award<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> recognizing outstanding contributions in the <\/span><b>fields of science, technology, and innovation.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The RVP seeks to <\/span><b>honour scientists, technologists<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and innovators whose work has significantly advanced India\u2019s scientific landscape and contributed to national development.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Eligibility<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scientists\/technologists\/innovators working in <\/span><b>government or private sector organizations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or any individual working outside any organization, who have made <\/span><b>distinguished contributions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in terms of path-breaking research or innovation or discovery <\/span><b>in any field of science, technology, or technology-led innovation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> shall be eligible for the awards.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>People of Indian Origin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> staying abroad with exceptional contributions benefiting the Indian communities or society shall also be eligible for the awards.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The awards will be presented in <\/span><b>four categories:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Vigyan Ratna (VR):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> For <\/span><b>lifetime achievements<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in science and technology.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Vigyan Shri (VS):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> For distinguished contributions in the field.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Vigyan Yuva\u2013Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar (VY-SSB):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To encourage young <\/span><b>scientists (up to 45 years) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">showing exceptional promise.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Vigyan Team (VT<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">): For <\/span><b>collaborative excellence<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by research teams of three or more members.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The awards are <\/span><b>administered by the RVP Secretariat,<\/b> <b>Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ministry of Science &amp; Technology, under the guidance of the <\/span><b>Principal Scientific Advisor <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to the Government of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ddnews.gov.in\/en\/govt-invites-nominations-for-rashtriya-vigyan-puraskar-2026-to-recognize-excellence-in-science-and-innovation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">DD News<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar is a prestigious national award recognizing outstanding contributions in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
