Established in 1976, it operates under the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/meity-startup-hub\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)<\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The NIC&#8217;s primary focus is to <strong>provide e-Government solutions<\/strong> and support to various government departments.<\/li>\n<li>NIC, through its ICT Network, \u201cNICNET\u201d, has institutional linkages with all the Ministries \/Departments of the Central Government, 36 State Governments\/ Union Territories across India.<\/li>\n<li>The following major activities are being undertaken:\n<ul>\n<li>Setting up of ICT Infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Implementation of National and State Level e-Governance Projects\/Products<\/li>\n<li>Consultancy to the Government departments<\/li>\n<li>Research &amp; Development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is the First Information Report (FIR)?<\/h3>\n<p>It is a written document prepared by a Police officer based on information given by an aggrieved person or any other person either in writing or made orally about the commission of a Cognizable Offence.
