The topography of the\u00a0mound is gently rising, with\u00a0its highest point\u00a0in the middle of the settlement, also called\u00a0Darbar Ghat.<\/li>\n<li>Vadnagar town is\u00a0divided into several blocks, also\u00a0called Mohallas or Madhs. These mohallas are\u00a0named after a temple, a community, or an occupation.<\/li>\n<li>The town\u2019s\u00a0fortifications, arched gateways (toranas), temples, wells, residential structures (kothis),\u00a0and excavated sites like\u00a0Buddhist monasteries and dedicated\u00a0stupas showcase the architectural influence of various cultural periods.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0oldest temple, Ambaji Mata Temple, dates back to the\u00a010th-11<sup>th<\/sup> Century CE,\u00a0while other important Hindu and Jain temples within the town are from 17<sup>th<\/sup> Century onward.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0current residential layer of the town\u00a0is from late Gaekwad period (late 18<sup>th<\/sup> Century CE).\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Vadnagar town is\u00a0surrounded by forti\ufb01cations made of bricks\u00a0and partly\u00a0stone, covering an area of 1km east-west and 700 m north-south.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What are Puranas?<\/h3>\n<p>The Puranas are religious texts composed in Sanskrit, orally narrated for centuries before being written down from the 2nd century CE onwards.
