The larvae\u00a0build these cases using silk produced from glands in their moths.\n<ul>\n<li>They\u00a0feed primarily on plant juices and flower nectar, though a few are predaceous.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Importance:\n<ul>\n<li>Caddisflies are a\u00a0vital component of aquatic ecosystems.
